Posaune Decouple (2006) performs Send in the Clowns by Sondheim/Wagner
On April 23, 2006, Glenn Dodson led Posaune Découple, an ensemble of ten trombonists from various regions, in concert at the Glencairn Museum in Bryn Athyn, PA. Beyond the unique program format and extremely articulate (often comedic) narration by Dodson, the audience in attendance was reminded of the importance of music education and the trombone's rightful place in the chamber forum. Decouple's event profoundly demonstrated the successful passing of the trombone discipline through multiple generations and revealed (yet again) a special brotherhood within the trombone community itself. Members of Posaune Decouple 2006 include Joseph Alessi (principal of New York Philharmonic), Mark Lawrence (principal of San Francisco Symphony), Glenn Dodson (former principal of The Philadelphia Orchestra), Carl Lenthe (former principal of Bamberg Symphony in Germany), M. Dee Stewart (former assistant principal of Philadelphia Orchestra), Nitzan Haroz (principal of Philadelphia Orchestra), Matthew Vaughn (assistant principal of Philadelphia Orchestra), Eric Carlson (second trombone of Philadelphia Orchestra), Blair Bollinger (bass trombonist of Philadelphia Orchestra) and Darrin C. Milling (bass trombone principal of São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra in Brazil).
